How Kaleo Kids Works

Kaleo Kids is a 12-week program that includes 10 regular classes, a dress rehearsal and performances.


Weekly Class SChedule

Each week students rotate through:

  • Dance | Includes warmup and choreography teaching of performance material, 30 minutes

  • Music | Includes warm-up, basic vocal technique and music theory, audition training and learning performance songs, 30 minutes

  • Drama | Includes improvisatory games, character development, audition training, and creative writing, 30 minutes

  • Community Time | Large group lesson on our theme, 15 minutes


The Details

Some things to keep in mind:

  • Classes are broken down into three groups: Kindergarten/1st grade, 2nd/3rd grade & 4th/5th grade

  • Recommended maximum size is 25 students per class, or 75 students total

  • Staffing includes: Director, Music Teacher, Drama Teacher, Dance Teacher, Administrator, Costume/Prop Volunteer

  • Budgets vary per location, but student tuition and scholarships are meant to cover the cost of the staff and the materials

  • Production Information: scripts, lyrics & music scores, mp3 versions of all music including instrumental performance tracks, casting/costume/staging notes and reference video of the performance (including choreography)
